How does the trade-in option work on Swappie’s website?
Swappie’s trade-in is a simple and convenient way to exchange your old iPhone while purchasing a new one. Here’s how it works:
- Select Trade-In: When viewing the desired product on swappie.com, select “Yes” when asked “Do you have an iPhone to trade in with Swappie?”. Alternatively, you will see this option again, when viewing your cart.
- Get an Estimate: Answer a few questions about your phone’s condition and get an instant trade-in value estimate.
- Complete your Purchase: Proceed with your new phone order.
- Receive a Trade-In Kit: You’ll receive your new phone along with a trade-in kit, including secure packaging and a prepaid return label.
- Send Your Old Phone: Ship your device back within 21 days.
Swappie will inspect your trade-in after it arrives and adjust the price if needed. You’ll have the option to accept or decline any changes.
Can I trade in more than one device?
No, currently you can only trade in one device per order. If you wish to trade in multiple devices, we recommend using our standard “Sell Your iPhone” flow instead.
After Trade-In #
What happens after I send in my trade-in phone?
Once your trade-in phone is received, here’s what happens next:
- Inspection: Swappie’s technicians will inspect the phone to confirm its condition matches your original description.
- Updated Offer (if needed): If your device’s condition differs, we’ll send you a revised offer via email.
- Your Choice: You can choose to accept the new price or have your phone returned to you free of charge.
When and where will I get my trade-in refund?
As soon as your trade-in is inspected and confirmed (or once you accept a revised offer), the payment will be processed.Expect to receive your refund through your original payment method within 2–3 business days after confirmation.
What if I paid for my Swappie phone with Klarna and chose a trade-in option?
If you’ve already paid the Klarna invoice in full, Swappie will reimburse you the trade-in amount. It may take up to 5 business days for Klarna to adjust the invoice.
If you haven’t completed the installment payments or have only partially paid the invoice, Swappie will coordinate with Klarna to adjust the bill and exclude the trade-in amount. This adjustment can also take up to 5 business days.
