Unknown Part #

My phone is showing a “Part Not Recognized” message—what does it mean?

This message appears because a part of your iPhone—such as the battery, screen, or camera—was replaced during refurbishment. Apple restricts component verification to its own repair network, so any replacement done outside of Apple’s authorized service centers will trigger this notification.

Rest assured, this does not affect your phone’s performance or functionality in any way. Swappie uses only high-quality, rigorously tested parts to ensure your device works reliably and meets our strict quality standards.

The message will disappear from your lock screen after 4 days and from settings after 15 days. If you experience any issues, Swappie’s warranty has you covered.

  2. Perform a force restart:
    • Press and release Volume Up
    • Press and release Volume Down

My iPhone is stuck in a boot loop—what should I do?

A boot loop can be caused by a software issue or hardware malfunction. Try the following:

  • Force restart your phone (steps above).
  • Update or restore via iTunes by connecting your phone to a computer.

If the issue persists, Swappie’s warranty is here to help.

My iPhone is overheating—how can I fix this?

If you just started using your iPhone and are installing apps or transferring data, some heating is normal. The device is working hard during setup, and the temperature should go down shortly after it’s complete.

iPhones can overheat due to excessive usage, high-performance apps, or exposure to direct sunlight. Try these fixes:

  • Close unused apps running in the background.
  • Turn off Bluetooth and Wi-Fi when not needed.
  • Reduce screen brightness and avoid using your phone in hot environments.

If overheating persists, it may indicate a hardware issue that Swappie can inspect under warranty.

My iPhone keeps shutting down unexpectedly—what’s going on?

Unexpected shutdowns could be caused by:

  • A battery issue—check battery health in Settings > Battery > Battery Health.
  • Software glitches—update iOS and reset settings (Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings).

If the problem persists, contact Swappie Warranty support

My iPhone is running slow—what could be causing this?

Common causes of slow performance:

  • Too many background apps—close unused apps.
  • Low storage space—delete unnecessary files.
  • Software issues—restart your device and check for updates.

If performance remains sluggish, a factory reset or warranty repair may be needed.

Find My iPhone & Apple ID Issues #

How do I disable the “Find My iPhone” feature?

Disabling Find My iPhone is necessary before selling, trading in, or returning your device for repair. Here’s how you can do it:

Disable Find My iPhone on your device

  • Open Settings.
  • Ensure that Stolen Device Protection is deactivated
    • Go to Settings > Face ID & Passcode (or Touch ID & Passcode, depending on the model).
    • Enter your device’s passcode.
    • Turn off the Stolen Device Protection option.
  • Tap [Your Name] (Apple ID) at the top.
  • Select Find My.
  • Tap Find My iPhone and toggle it off.
  • Enter your Apple ID password when prompted to confirm the change.

If the Find My iPhone button is grey and cannot be clicked, you will need to deactivate Stolen Device Protection.

If you no longer have access to your iPhone (e.g., it’s lost, broken, or already sold), you can disable Find My iPhone remotely using iCloud:

  • Go to iCloud.com and log in with your Apple ID.
  • Click Find My from the home screen.
  • Select All Devices at the top and choose the iPhone you want to remove.
  • Ensure the device is offline before proceeding.
  • Click Remove This Device.

Important: Make sure you select “Remove This Device” instead of “Erase This Device”. Erasing the device does not disable Find My iPhone. If you have already selected Erase This Device, you must cancel the erasure request before you can remove the iPhone.

How to deactivate Stolen Device Protection?

1. Go to Settings > Face ID & Passcode (or Touch ID & Passcode, depending on the model).

2. Enter your device’s passcode.

3. Turn off the Stolen Device Protection option.

Once this feature is deactivated, the Find My iPhone option will become available for deactivation.

I forgot my Apple ID password—how can I reset it?

You can reset your password by visiting Apple’s official password reset page and following the instructions.

Please note that Swappie’s Customer Support is unable to assist with Apple ID-related issues.

Battery Issues #

My battery drains too fast—what can I do?

If your iPhone’s battery is draining quickly, it may be due to software settings, background activity, or battery health. Here’s how you can troubleshoot and extend your battery life:

  1. Check Battery Health – like all rechargeable batteries, iPhone batteries gradually lose capacity over time with regular use. To check your battery’s condition:
  • Go to Settings > Battery > Battery Health & Charging
  • Look at the Maximum Capacity percentage. A battery is considered to be in optimal condition when this value is above 80%. A lower percentage means the battery holds less charge than when it was new, which can lead to faster draining.
  1. Manage Background Activity – some apps consume power even when you’re not using them. Disable background activity for unnecessary apps:
  • Open Settings > General > Background App Refresh
  • Toggle off apps that don’t need to run in the background.
  1. Optimize Display & Power Settings
  • Reduce screen brightness or enable Auto-Brightness in Settings > Display & Brightness.
  • Enable Low Power Mode when the battery is running low (Settings > Battery > Low Power Mode). Your device may then charge slowly or up to 80% first, before the optimisation has been completed.
  1. Update Your Software – a recent iOS update may temporarily increase battery drain, but keeping your software up to date ensures battery optimizations.
  • Go to Settings > General > Software Update and install any available updates.
  1. Restart Your iPhone – restarting your phone can stop background processes that might be using excessive power.

If your battery continues to drain abnormally despite following these steps, it may be a sign of a hardware issue. You can send your device to Swappie’s warranty service for inspection.

My battery percentage jumps up and down—why?

This may indicate a calibration issue. Try:

  • Draining the battery completely, then charging it to 100% without interruption.
  • If this persists, you can send the device to Swappie’s warranty service for inspection.
My iPhone is charging really slowly—is there a fix?
  • Clean the charging port with a soft-bristled toothbrush.
  • Try using a different charging cable and adapter.
  • Check if optimized Charging is active, and deactivate it.

If charging remains slow, the battery may require replacement. You can send your device to Swappie’s warranty service for inspection.

My iPhone turns off even though the battery still has charge left—what’s the issue?

If your iPhone is shutting down unexpectedly despite showing battery charge, the issue could be caused by software conflicts or battery health problems. Here’s how you can troubleshoot the issue:

  1. Update Your iPhone’s Software – ensure your device is running the latest iOS version.
  • Go to Settings > General > Software Update and install any available updates.
  1. Reset Your Settings – sometimes, a settings conflict can cause shutdowns.
  • Go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset All Settings (this won’t delete your data).
  1. Perform a Factory Reset – if the problem persists, resetting your iPhone can help eliminate deeper software conflicts.
  • Back up your data first by going to Settings > Apple ID (Your Name) > iCloud > iCloud Backup > Back Up Now.
  • Then, reset your device: Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Erase All Content and Settings.

If your iPhone continues to turn off unexpectedly even after following these steps, it could be a sign of a failing battery or other hardware issues. In this case, we recommend sending your phone to Swappie’s warranty service for further inspection.

Speakers & Microphones #

My call quality is poor—what’s wrong with my phone?

If you’re experiencing poor call quality, the issue could be caused by network problems, microphone or speaker issues, or software conflicts. Try the following steps:

  • Check your network signal: If your signal is weak, move to an area with better reception or try switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data for calls.
  • Remove phone accessories: Cases or screen protectors may block the microphone or speaker. Remove them and see if the issue improves.
  • Clean your microphone and speaker: Dust and debris can block sound. Use a soft-bristled brush (like a toothbrush) or compressed air to gently clean them.
  • Disable Bluetooth: If your phone is connected to a Bluetooth device, disconnect it, as it may be interfering with audio.
  • Restart your phone: A quick restart can resolve temporary glitches.
  • Update your software: Ensure your iPhone is running the latest iOS version by going to Settings > General > Software Update.

If the issue persists, it may be a hardware problem covered under Swappie’s warranty.

My iPhone’s microphone isn’t working—how can I fix it?

If your microphone isn’t working properly, you may notice that people can’t hear you clearly during calls or when recording voice messages. Here’s how to troubleshoot:

  • Check for obstructions: Remove any phone cases or accessories that may be covering the microphone.
  • Clean the microphone: Dust and dirt can block sound. Use a soft-bristled brush or compressed air to gently clean the microphone opening. Avoid sharp objects or water, as they may cause damage.
  • Test the microphone:
  1. Open the Voice Memos app and record a short message.
  2. Play it back to check if the microphone is picking up sound properly.
  • Check for app-specific issues: If the microphone works in some apps but not others, the issue may be related to the app itself.
  • Restart your iPhone: A quick restart can help fix temporary glitches.
  • Update your software: Go to Settings > General > Software Update and install any available updates.

If your microphone is still not working after these steps, it may require a repair under Swappie’s warranty.

My speaker sounds muffled or isn’t working—what should I do?

Start by identifying which speaker is affected:

  • Bottom speaker (for music, videos, ringtones)
  • Earpiece speaker (for hearing during phone calls)

Then, try the following steps:

  • Check Silent Mode & Do Not Disturb
    • Make sure Silent Mode is off (via the side switch or Action button).
    • Swipe down from the top-right corner and turn off Do Not Disturb in Control Center.
  • Remove Obstructions
    • Take off any case, screen protector, or film.
    • Check for dust or debris in the speaker openings and gently clean with a soft, dry brush.
  • Test the Speaker
    • Go to Settings > Sounds & Haptics, and move the Ringtone and Alerts slider.
    • If you don’t hear anything or the volume icon is dimmed, the speaker may require service.
  • Make a Test Call
    • Call someone and switch to speakerphone.
    • If the sound is still poor or missing, it could be a network issue—try again later or in a different area.

If none of these steps resolve the problem, the issue may be hardware-related. You may be eligible for a repair under Swappie’s warranty.

Screen #

My touchscreen isn’t responding—how can I fix it?

If your iPhone’s touchscreen is completely unresponsive, try these troubleshooting steps:

  • Restart your iPhone: A quick restart can sometimes resolve temporary software glitches.
  • Reset settings: Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. This will not delete your data but will restore default system settings.
  • Factory reset your iPhone: If the problem persists, perform a full reset by going to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings. Before doing this, back up your data via iCloud (Settings > Apple ID > iCloud > iCloud Backup > Back Up Now).
  • Remove any screen protectors or cases: These may interfere with touch sensitivity. Test your screen without them.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, it could be a hardware problem. You may be eligible for a repair under Swappie’s warranty.

My screen has discoloration or lines—what does this mean?

If your screen shows discoloration or lines, this could indicate a screen defect or internal damage. Here’s what you can do:

  • Restart your phone to check if the issue is temporary.
  • Check for software updates (Settings > General > Software Update)—sometimes, display issues can be fixed with an update.
  • Inspect for physical damage: If your phone has suffered a fall, impact, or pressure, the screen may be damaged internally.

Important Warranty Information

  • If your phone was physically damaged after delivery (e.g., dropped or impacted), this is considered user-inflicted damage and is not covered by Swappie’s warranty. In this case, we recommend seeking local repair options, as Swappie does not offer repair services for out-of-warranty devices.

If your phone has no visible damage but continues to display screen issues, you may be eligible for warranty service. Please follow the warranty process through MySwappie to request assistance.

My touchscreen is really slow to respond—what should I do?

If your touchscreen responds sluggishly or lags, try the following fixes:

  • Check for software updates: Go to Settings > General > Software Update and install any available updates.
  • Close background apps: Running too many apps at once can slow down performance. Swipe up from the bottom (or double-click the Home button on older models) and close unnecessary apps.
  • Reset settings: If lagging persists, go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings.
  • Factory reset as a last resort: If nothing else works, you can reset your device by going to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings (make sure to back up your data first via iCloud > iCloud Backup).
  • Remove any screen protectors or cases: They might reduce touch sensitivity.

If the issue persists, this might be caused by a hardware problem. Swappie’s warranty may cover repairs if needed.

Network, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth Issues #

My phone isn’t detecting a network signal—what’s wrong?

If your network provider confirms there is no issue on their end, you may need a warranty service. Please follow the process through MySwappie for assistance.

My iPhone keeps disconnecting from Wi-Fi—how can I fix it?

Frequent Wi-Fi disconnections can be caused by router issues, software glitches, or hardware problems. To fix this:

  • Restart your router and iPhone: Power off both devices, wait a few seconds, and turn them back on.
  • Forget and Reconnect to the Wi-Fi Network: Go to Settings > Wi-Fi. Tap your Wi-Fi network, then Forget This Network. Reconnect by entering your Wi-Fi password
  • Check for Software Updates: Go to Settings > General > Software Update and install any available updates.

Apps #

My apps keep crashing—what should I do?

App crashes or freezing can be frustrating. Try the following steps to resolve the issue:

  • Update your apps to the latest version.
  • Check for known issues with the app you’re trying to use (e.g. on the App Store or the developer’s website).
  • Restart your iPhone.
  • If a specific app keeps crashing, uninstall and reinstall it.
  • Check for a software update for your iPhone and install it if available.

Persistent issues with multiple apps might require a deeper look into the iPhone’s software or hardware. If the issue continues then we recommend you activate your warranty service to send us your phone.

My Snapchat isn’t working—why is this happening?

If Snapchat is not working on your iPhone, it is not due to an issue with the phone itself. Instead, Snapchat may have blocked the device rather than the user.

Why is my device blocked from Snapchat?

Many companies, including Apple, Meta, and Google, enforce bans for policy violations. However, instead of blocking individual user accounts, Snapchat may block the device itself. This is a setting controlled by Snapchat, and Swappie has no control over it.

What should I do?

Contact Swappie Customer Support and let us know about the issue.

Reach out to Snapchat Support and:

  • Explain the situation.
  • Provide proof of purchase to confirm that you’re the new owner of the device.
  • Request that they unblock the device so you can use Snapchat.

If Snapchat cannot unblock your device, Swappie offers two options:

  • Exchange the device: You can return it to Swappie’s warranty department, and we will exchange it internally for another device.
  • Return for a full refund: You may also return the phone for a refund if it is within the return period.

Please contact Swappie’s customer support if you would like to proceed with an exchange or return.
